landmark

A new landmark in Kayu Agung, South Sumatra, inspired by the form of the “Bende,” a traditional gong and cultural symbol of the region. The Bende is closely associated with the regional motto of Ogan Komering Ilir, “Bende Seguguk,” which symbolizes unity—many people moving together in one rhythm and toward a shared purpose. Much like the resonant sound of a gong that gathers attention, it reflects the collective spirit of the community in building the region.

Beyond creating a symbolic landmark, the project aims to establish a new public space for the community. The landmark is envisioned not only as a visual identity for the city, but also as a place for social interaction, gathering, and play for local residents.
