Sentra PKL
The existing site serves as a place for street vendors to operate and as an informal gathering space for the local community. The new intervention seeks to improve the quality of the environment while accommodating existing community activities through architecture.
The building provides shelter for several street vendors while simultaneously functioning as a social space for local residents. The surrounding environment is further enhanced through landscape design, with a particular focus on strengthening the riverfront along the Komering River.
Local cultural elements and characteristics are incorporated into the design of the seating elements, which reinterpret the form of the “pohon nipah,” or nipa palm, as a contemporary architectural element.
